A glorious and very happy wedding day and what a perfect way to start the summer months. This gorgeous couple were getting ready for their Big Day at the Palace de Menthon on the shores of Lake Annecy (and yes the lake really is that amazing turquoise colour – if you haven’t been to visit you really must add it to your list !).  I love it when the couple get ready at the same place because that way I get to nip between the rooms to photograph both parts of the wedding preparations – both of them with their best friends and parents, a brilliant start to the day.

STUNNING STORMY WEDDING – PALACE DE MENTHON

The bride looked so very beautiful in her dreamy dress and the look on her father’s face as he saw her for the first time was just pricelesss.  As soon as everyone was ready the coaches pulled up to the hotel to take the guests to the wedding ceremony itself at the lovely church in Annecy-le-Vieux, a short trip along the lake.  A ceremony full of emotions and smiles, quiet moments and love followed by bubbles as they left to start the second part of the celebrations.  A perfect day! Why the title ‘stunning stormy wedding’? … well here you go. After the church ceremony in Annecy le Vieux the wedding party arrived by coach at the Palace de Menthon to enjoy the stunning location for a wedding cocktail down by the lakeside. As you can see we arrived in sunshine, time for a few gorgeous sunny photos but as the cocktail progressed the clouds darkened and the rain threatened. The guests moved up to the Palace to continue their celebrations before going to get ready for the black tie evening do and we grabbed a few minutes with the stunning stormy background to take some couple shots on the lakeside … it was fun, windy and started to get wet … at which point they jumped in the little golf cart and whizzed up to their guests in the hotel. A&M your day was magical – a really really happy day, if anything the weather added to it giving you the full range of looks and several giggles whilst we did the group shots in the rain. Thank you both so much for asking me to photograph your wedding day – it really was a treat, you are both stars !!!
